- Your best bet is to contact the Private
Investigator/Private Security/Bail Enforcement Licensing Division in
the Program Services Bureau of the Iowa Department of Safety. Their
direct number is 515-281-7610.

- They handle all licensing issues for bail
enforcement and would be the best resource for you since it is
unclear to me whether you will require a license if you are
commissioned LE. I would also make sure that your department does
not have a policy against it's PO's working these types of
assignments- very often they do as it historically has become a
conflict of interest or a misuse of state and gov't funding.
