Bail Enforcement Pay

Jason Littlejohn

Sierra Vista, Arizona

Dear Mr. Harrell,

I am aware that a Bounty Hunter usually makes about 10-15% off of the bail amount once the fugitive is captured. Here is my question to you, how much is the average Bail amount? In other words how much money will I make off of the average apprehension?

Thank You,

Jason Littlejohn

Jason,

The AVERAGE bail amount is different in every jurisdiction but it is somewhere in the area of $2,000.  It is important to understand that MANY cases are for $500 to $1,500 bail amounts. In fact, the majority of them will be. I certainly would never work a case for $50, so I establish minimum assignment fees up front with the bondsmen. The $500 bond most oftentimes takes as long to work as the $5,000 bond.

I discuss why and how to do this in depth in my training products.
